Pecan Pumpkin Protein Pinwheels cont.

Thank You for your responses...I will continue the Pinwheel making.

VM container add 1 cup granola and 1 cup pecans and process vm vs #2-3 ziploc it.
VM container add 1 1/2 cups Pecans and process on High using tamper until creamed to a nut butter, set aside.

Cover your table with parchment paper ... 16x16x16 area and tape corners to table to keep them from moving when you roll out the dehydrated sheet. Place a parchment paper to cover the food sheet and flip over and slide onto table. place another parchment paper on the top and start rolling until thin to roll, you will have to add more parchment paper as you roll; when done remove papers and Spread pecan nut butter on top to cover; not to thick and not to thin :) Then sprinkle with chopped nuts and granola.

Time to roll it. Remove tape from table and parchment paper and use to roll up mixture. Do it slowly as some areas may stick on parchment paper....when rolled, place new parchment paper on the table and roll the pinwheel log onto it and roll to cover and place in the refrigerator for a few hours even until the next day. This will firm up the log for easier slicing.
After slicing (with a very sharp sharp knife) place pinwheel's back into the dehydrator 125.
Dehydrated another 24 hrs or until somewhat dry to the touch. The released oils from the nuts keep a somewhat moisture (soft) feeling to the pinwheels. Oils preserve but can eventually turn rancid (it takes a few months maybe longer; so always keep dehydrated foods stored properly.

Dehydrated foods stored in air tight container and kept in dry dark area. Do NOT refrigerate as this will create moisture. Moisture after times creates Spoilage.

Wrap pinwheels 4-5 together in parchment paper and stick into ziploc and store. Well, good thing I made alot because my 8 yr old grandson keeps eating them :)

Pecan Pumpkin Protein Pinwheels

This ends as a dehydrated food. I love the art of creation and I may not realize what all goes into making stuff.... it is all so easy for me...basic food sources used.... lots of time on my hands :) I see it as learning more foods to deliver through a Drive Thru window....Project Drive Thru Folks, It is up to us to create it. Spread the Word. more info. www.eatingforhealthstore.com

To the pie mixture that was left over...don't think measurements of what you have, just add the following.

1 batch of pumpkin pie crust. Yep make it again :)

2 oz Goji Berries..........in vm container add 1 c water and process on High for 90 seconds...breaks down all the seeds...releasing their nutrients :) add to mixture. You add everything to the mixture and wait to stir.

I hope you are using a large large bowl like me. My husband found at Costco a set of extra large deep stainless steel bowls; I love them.

In vm container add 1 cup pecans and process vs#2 then set aside in a ziploc.

In vm container add 1 cup granola 1/4 cup cinnamon process to flour add to pecans

In vm container add 1 cup coconut flakes process to fine and add to pecans and zip the ziploc and shake. Add to mixture. Don't stir mixture yet.

Soak 2 cups whole dates and process vs# 5 add to mixture

1/2 pineapple core included vm vs# 7

1/2 cantaloupe use 1/2 the seeds with a few chunks of the fruit and process on High for 90 seconds) add remaining fruit and process vm vs# 2

1 cup Protein grain flour (see post below)

5 carrots vm # 8 use 1/4 cup water for liq.

4 oranges - peel off 4 wide slices of peel... slice on right on front on left on back..

leaves some intense orange flavor but not enough to take over. When eating dehydrated foods, you can taste flavors come alive. Process vs# 7

In a vm container add 1 cup hot water and add to it:

1 cup raw honey

1/8 cup royal jelly

1 cup molasses and process vs# 1-5 to blend. add more hot water if needed.

Now to mix...cut ingredients into each other to blend. Trust me, It is easier.

Have dehydrator set on High and start spreading 4 cup mixture per sheet. I'm using a 9 tray dehydrator...can't see it working in a round one.

Turn down temp on dehydrator to 125...remember dehydrator temp is air moisture cooled to a 20* drop in temp. Keeping the food as life force.

I dehydrated it over night and them some during the day...when it is able to be lifted or peeled from sheet, then it is ready for the first step.

If you are interested in the rest please let me know. and I will continue to post.

I see how this could be a bit much. I am happy to share, so let me know.

Recipe for Raw Pumpkin Pie

Filling: This is processed in a Vita Mix Machine... I do not advise with any
other blender.
The Crust recipe is at the bottom of the Pumpkin recipe. Make it first so it is ready

for the pie mixture.

Allow pie to sit for at least an hour. It is delicious.... no one would even know it's raw..... unless told.

Pie Filling
1/2 medium pumpkin (if you plan on making pinwheels; otherwise use 1/4 of pumpkin)
8 dates
3 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/8 tsp. allspice If you don't have ginger, cardamom or allspice use pumpkin pie spice.
1/4 cup raw honey
3 Tbs. coconut butter Once I didn't have any so I VM'ed up some Pecan Butter :)
2 tsp vanilla est.
3 Tbs. psyllium husks I used 1/2 cup of Metamucil with psyllium ( it worked even better then
just the psyllium. Psyllium calms spastic colon's; most
don't know they have this issue; this issue cause's back up in
digestive system. Eat Healthy in Pie :)
2 Tbs. bladderwrack (optional, no flavor just added nutrition)

Process the above on VM High until smooth and creamy. It will thicken in the refrigerator.

Crust:
2-3 cups pecans
8 dates
2 tsp. vanilla ext.
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt
Turn on Vm Variable speed # 3 - 8 Drop in while running the above, use tamper until all is homogenized and press into the bottom of a pie plate.
I will further a new post of how the extra pumpkin pie mixture became......Pinwheels

Pumpkin Pie to Pecan Pumpkin Protein Pinwheels

I have finally come to understand that one is not to spill out chat on twitter or phitter; but to create a blog and post blog and subtitle. I agree I am slow; but I eventually get or know what is . Thanks to ALL who put up with my on going chats to reach folks.

I'll still be chatting here and all, but I am also going to share with you how to make nutrition dense life force foods.

I do use a VitaMix machine; high power motor, great blades on and on I can talk of this machine; want to know more Please just ask me. I also use an Excalibur 9 tray Dehydrator. I have two , I'm working on another for Christmas. Really though, my shelf unit can hold Five, easy, I'm working on it.

Before I take a break; I'll share how to make your Protein flour mix.
I get my grains at the Whole Foods Store;
I buy for large recipes and constant making; like 2 pounds or more of each of the following below. To make one batch of Protein flour you really only need to have 2 cups of each grain below.

Amaranth, Quinoa, Millet & Chia Seed if you can find it. Add to VM container process on HIGH 40 seconds or less. Anyone with a VM knows it takes no time at all. If you don't have a Dry Container, you can still make a flour in the wet blade container, make sure the lid is on good. Process 2 cups at a time. Put it in a ziploc, and Shake.
